There's a first time for everything, right?

Yikes... My first post. I'll come back and cringe later.

Anyways, I honestly have no idea how these work- but I'm going to give it my absolute best shot. This is an amazing opportunity to share my thoughts and experiences, and I am beyond excited to start. I'll start by letting you know more about me. I'm about to be a sophmore in high school. Ugh. Why can't summer be longer??? I play the flute in marching band, and... idk what else. I'll fill you in when I have more to say.

Freshman year wasn't that bad actually, considering I transferred schools. It wasn't really too bad because I was still staying in the same school district. Obviously I was mad about leaving my friends behind, but I was also excited to have a fresh start. A clean slate. I had a few bad experiences with some people back in middle school that have definitely changed me for the better, but I'd rather not go over them. Going in I knew that it was going to be hard to make friends, since everyone already knew each other. I taught myself that the only that I was going to make friends was if I started the conversations. If I made the first move. And man, that helped so much. Honestly, being the most confident you can be and branching out as much as you can helps so much. I made friends fast. I went from the quiet new girl to the really friendly new girl. Next was academics. The school I go to is pretty much all academics based. We don't even have a football team ( I know right!) because no one wanted to join the team. Everyone is too focused on getting into Berkeley - its ridiculous. My GPA wasn't too great, but I definitely will work on that this year. WAIT - I'm rambling so much. I don't want to bore you with too much in one post so I'll leave it here and tell you more next time! Thank you so much for your support.

Always,

Aphrodite
