Goals, goals, and OH LOOK, more goals.

SO technically you're supposed to write your goals at the beginning of the year. And, technically it is the beginning of the year - the school year. A great tip I learned from Pinterest (I know right BEST website ever) is that writing down what you want to accomplish before the school year can help you actually achieve those things. It depends on who you and what you want to make out of the year, but you goals should be focused on both school and your social life. I want to "improve" in both, so I guess here I go. This year I want to:

  • Get a 4.0 GPA

  • I've never done this before because I've always slack off. It goes well until the last month of first semester, when I start giving up on my work. Usually all of second semester is spent trying to bring my grades back up. I absolutely do not want this to happen this year. High school counts and everything that happens counts towards college, which is an important step to my future.

  • Join a New Club, or Two

  • Joining a big club would help me make more friends, teach me new things, you know? And, if I really like it I could apply to be an officer to help with take the club in a better direction or at least make a difference.

  • Learn Sign Language

  • I am literally the most excited for this one. They don't offer a class for this at my school, but I did find a youtube channel by a man named Bill Vicars, who is hard of hearing and created this channel to teach people how to sign. he has videos for complete beginners and is a great teacher. Go check him out if you want to learn too!

  • Lose Weight

  • I have been "trying" for so long, but I really want to do this. I want to feel comfortable in my own body. I'm not fat, but I'm not fit either. I don't like to wear crop tops or shorts because of my tummy, love handles, and fat thighs. It has nothing to do with what other people think of me, but more for myself to feel better wearing clothes and carry myself more confidently.

  • Visit a Few Colleges

  • I only have three more years before I'm off on my own. That's is a long time, but time flies. I want to at least have an idea of where I want to go so when the time comes, I know where to apply. Its a small step, but it will come in handy one day.

  • Make The Most of The Year

  • I want to do my best and thrive. My grades, my friends, my blog, and my life. I want it to be a good year.

Wow. Feels like New Years. Probably should have added those to my resolutions at the beginning of the year. But hey - December's only four months away. Anyways, those are my goals (sorry about the lack of synonyms). Hopefully I can actually follow them, but at least I have this blog to remind me when things get off track. Remember, when things get tough: don't stress, do your best, and forget the rest!

Always,

Aphrodite
